The Company

EstefanÍa Porqueras

Artistic Director, Choreographer and Dancer

Born in Barcelona and instructed in the Performing Arts since she was 4 years old, she discovered Tap Dance at the age of 10 and gradually began to dedicate herself entirely to it. Since then she has always remained constant in her training, becoming one of the students of the most prestigious dance venue in the United States, Jacob's Pillow (Tap Program 2017).

She began her professional career in 2003 dancing in different theaters with the Basilio González CLAK & ROLL dance company and with the BIG BAND DE GRANOLLERS jazz band. In 2004 she joined the TAPEPLAS company (actual Sharon Lavi Company), in which she was a dancer in their 4 productions. Currently, she continues as a solo dancer in her latest work FRAGMENTS. Since the beginning of her career, she has combined stage activity with regular teaching in various dance schools and, since 2012, she has been part of the faculty at ESCOLA LUTHIER, one of the leading Tap Dance centers in Europe. Simultaneously, she is invited to give Master-Classes and to participate in different international Tap Dance festivals and Workshops such as Stockholm, Torino, Oslo, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Dallas, etc.

In 2020 due to the health crisis, she started two new projects: TAP TALKS LIVE, online socio-educational sessions around Tap Dance topics co-presented with Iselin Jansen (Oslo), and began to coordinate and direct the REGULAR TAP DANCE PROGRAMMING at Golem’S (old Almeria Teatre), where to this day different productions are still presented every two months, next to a monthly Tap Jam, and other events.

Her choreographic composition journey started in 2011 with little pieces as Amélie, a little short Tap Dance poem created for sporadic performances to offer a new vision in dance composition. In 2015 she finally founded her own choreographic initiative UNUM Project. This fresh encounter between Tap Dance and Live Electronic Music debuted its first 25-minute piece, -SIGHTS-, in Torino (Italy, December 2016). In 2018 she added to her choreographic curriculum the assistance of Tap Dance in the musical LA JAULA DE LAS LOCAS, working next to the renowned choreographer Aixa Guerra, (Original “La Cage aux Folles”, Teatre Tívoli of Barcelona, 2018/19 Season).

In 2020 she created her second show Summary of Memories and Scars where she added to her singular way of dance composition the concepts of storytelling and graphic design (October 2020). The show has recently been selected to tour in Spain thanks to the support of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music of Spain (INAEM).
